Our Story

C&J's Drive In has been on South Cushman Street in Fairbanks, Alaska since 1972. Same grill, same recipes, more than fifty years in — in a town where almost nothing stays put that long.

The hoagie rolls still come in fresh. The patties are still pressed by hand. The shake mugs go in the freezer the night before, because that's how you get the frost. Nothing about that has changed, and that's on purpose.

Fifty years of the same order

Generations of Fairbanks families, Fort Wainwright soldiers, and road-trippers have pulled in for the Alaska Supreme — three hand-pressed patties on a hoagie with bacon, cheese, onions, lettuce and tomato. Soldiers stationed here in the early '90s still write to say they think about it.

Still a drive-in

We're not trying to reinvent the burger. We're just trying to make yours right — fast, hot, and the way it's been made here since 1972.
